Patriciate

Patriciate

A Poem by Ed Fagan
"

simple little write

"
there they sat wearing greed-filtered glasses
bellies full, hardly missing a meal.
cuddled and warm in their hypocrite masses.
eating the flesh from the wounded, concealed.

spinning their truth, these demigod rulers
praising a god, which, is certainly theirs.
holding out hope for the lesser, the meager
just out of reach, with only inches to spare.
