Travel light

Travel light

A Poem by Ed Fagan
"

Just a brief thought

"
Travel, travel light.
the Sun at your back ...
the cool breeze in your face.

should the wind offer a cold reality,
find shelter on the ground ...
the warm comfort of a soil.

smell the earth, taste of the dirt ...
spit out the bile
the untruth man attempts to dig into your soul.

released the temptation,
borrowed into your skin ...
become the you that sets itself apart.
refuse false prophets of hate in denial.

hate is a burden, we must focus on what really matters in our journey in life, which is love and compassion and gratitude

regards,
steph

even when life seems to hate us...better to let go of the angst, and travel with less burden....so that we can enjoy the rest of the trip of life...

this poem is a reality...but i felt it deeply...at my age, i have had to do much letting go...

nicely expressed with your usual poetic mastery.
