Mister Fly

Mister Fly

A Poem by Requs

When life goes to slowly

Many wish to speed it up

Most, however

Forget joy

Forget that

It's minutes to years

Closer to mortality's ahoy

When the passing of time annoys

Every aspect of passing thought

You swarm with impatience

And allow yourself to be caught

Even by serious injustice

All that you've practiced has ended

All for not

Mister fly with eyes so many

You hiss and threaten

And fly with a playground of a sky

Why have you bitten

The adrenaline from out my flesh

Mister fly why have you siphoned

All desire, why me of all

Your catch

Strength carries between two lovers

And ideas run short allowing romance

To fly right on by

Problems without just independence

Post burden to an already decaying man

Short foresight burns horror into the already damned

Mister fly I caught you in a jar

Yet. You still struggle

You still try to hasten the time

Mister fly you've hit par

Yet you threw your ball far from your putt

You sacrifice to be satisfied

And I pity the way you see

But deep within my mind as I observe you behind your glass

I fear the same has happened to me

And I can't tell anymore if I'm the one watching

And if you did the catching

Boredom the disease of common victims

Chews the values that prevent crimes

The magnitude seems equivalent on all scales

From lost love due to laziness

Or personal enslavement due to self pity

The reality stays prevalent

It screams that the fourth dimension will shorten

All the misdirection and all of the unsatisfactory opinions

Mister fly since you've found sleeping on your back

Helped calm those silly acts of resistant behavior

Life can slow down again to help you enjoy the here and now

Rather then the stained anticipation of happiness

Now I find myself in envy of your ever present stillness

its about skipping time to fulfill an anticipated event ("the I cant wait" thing and trying to waste time to get what you want)...the point of thee poem is to remind what your wasting between point A to point B if its as damaging as losing the one you love due to impatience or simply isolating yourself in your bed to pass the hours faster...what your waiting strategy before you die? how do you waste time till 80+? comment below

This is a very good poem, very good indeed. I was actually thinking of writing something very similar to this, its called "The Burnt Wings Of A FireFly" but it seems as if you have made such a poem before me. I really loved the third stanza, that one really got to me the best. You work very well with metaphors in this write. Flawless job, I really enjoyed reading.

Hate to tell ya, but it's more of a journal entry than poetry. Too many words. Catch the essence and try it again. Thank you for posting, dude. I did read it.
