Memories of the Future

Memories of the Future

A Poem by Requs

Twirling under stars’ afternoon

In the amusement park of dreams content

Nothing to vent

Relinquishing my ideas

To relieve my own consent

Plagued with free smiles

A submission from my own guile

Thousands of miles away

At peace with him in my arms

A peace not the greatest of enemies can harm

A swarming of love

Sets in deep, feeling disconnected….

Feeling in this moment

Lion’s golden light

Peaceful stillness

The suns fiery might

Silent sirens

Everything ripe, everything better, everything fine

Extending past the fall of night

In this moment

The joy makes us shiver

Our sensual involvement projects the story of escape

Shadows beyond the mirror…………………

(We; the two balloons let loose off into the breeze

Tightly entangled

Both reaching gravity’s height, fine with flowing all the up

Without fear of what could be ahead

With nothing else left to be said

Where the word youth

Became nothing more than a state of mind

We pity the crowd below

Because we are grateful

For being stripped of their lead-like shackle

We watch it fall behind

We watch everything; fall behind

A sight of pure relieve

A sight without sound;) …………………

Clear as spring water

All of this I somehow remember

Makes my mind feel haunted

Because these memories which I never participated

Saturate my feelings at the fastest rate

Even zoning back into life’s steady precipitation of hate

Where their layers upon layers of anti-self still accumulate

Where their simmering evil that cannot be forgotten

Might actually be slipping away

I don’t even need to focus or try

I lose myself, I get lost

Somewhere left of vivid reality

It can’t be helped

I’m encapsulated

No; rather, infatuated with my own thoughts

Ever contemplating the life I never lived

Could’ve been the best life I could’ve ever had

Maybe or may not would be the right answer

In end, I gather

Memories of the future

Brew a restless ever-lasting optimism

Which aspires for us to endure all disasters

For the rest of our final endeavor

This has to be all part of what must matter

A nice rhythmic motion to it, I could see it as a story.
