You Took Me

You Took Me

A Poem by Emma Claire

You took my days and my nights
all my dreams and my frights
turned them against me--
give them back!

Thief!
Thief!

You who stole my hours
my very thoughts!
Who reached deep into my mind to find
dusty treasure,
my mind that is but a crowded woods
You came in the night as shadow
and in the morn as light
You've uprooted everything every little thing
You are no Robin Hood!

You stole my heart
and I want it back...

...don't I?

The poem's direction is great. The ending fits nicely.
