Daniel, I know...we've all been there, but your description of 'the Block' is very eloquent in its simplicity and your limited use of internal rhyme makes it a decidedly more effective way to convey your thoughts. By the way, I write under the name riki (the name of my ferret) but my real name is Dan also. I've sent a friend request and would be honored if you would accept. take care...dan
No harsh words will you find from me - already enough people spreading that in the world and I must be true to myself first and foremost.
I've had my bouts with writers block at various times, sometimes spanning months only for the floodgates to open to near drowning later as my muse awakens from some lucid dream and revels in moving my hand to the page with fervor.
I keep pen, paper and even a notepad app on my phone and keep notes of even singular lines and titles just to be safe - you never know when inspiration will strike.
Very well expressed - and I am sure that all your readers willl identify. I take my writers block out each morning, run around it three times and then kick it under the bed. It's the only exercise I get! Well done.

I hate it when you think of the best things to say after the moment has passed, grr lol. Good job with the poem :)
