Young Spirit

Young Spirit

A Poem by Marea Salice

Sometimes forgotten

The bliss of youth

Left behind us

When revealing truth

Remember those days

Out in the bright sun

Making games out of nothing

The highest priority fun

Imaginary friends

Kept us from loneliness

Our secrets to them

We willingly confessed

But the world becomes shorter

As we grow taller and taller

Our untouched spirit that flared

Grows smaller and smaller

Our grip on reality

Quite tight in our mind

As soon as it snaps

We become fairly blind
