Earth's Cycle

Earth's Cycle

A Poem by Marea Salice

Sunlight streams down

Between the colored leaves of fall

Where birds happily play

Where bugs scuttle and crawl

The crisp autumn breeze

Cools the summer heat

Not quite so bitter

Yet not quite as sweet

The sun burns with a cold light

That drives the animals to sleep

Even the cold of the bitter winter

Is felt by the animals of the deep

As spring creeps above the horizon

The sweet air returns to the earth again

Animals scramble out of their shelter

And calls can be heard from the wren

The plentiful rain turns to heat

As the earth swelters from the sun

The animals know it will never last

For the cycle of the earth is never done

Marea, this is such fine writing, for any age.

Reminds me of some of my writing when I was much younger,
only your's is better.

Keep it up, you have a natural talent!
