Love me

Love me as a tree loves the Earth

In which it grows tall and strong.

I will love you as the river loves its bank

Without which it would have no form.

Let's love not as two parts of a whole,

But as two separate entities

Merely choosing to love and to be loved

As equals.

That we both may become more than ourselves.
