Cold

Cold

A Poem by Echo086

Cold,
So cold...
The world has
Grown so cold it
Freezes my insides, my heart.
So cold it has frozen you.
You look at me now with pity.
I look at you now with longing, confusion.
We are further, love, than we have ever been -
Further than before I knew you, before I'd heard your name -
You showed me Eden, paradise, but I tasted the apple
And I have been cast out for my sins.
I have returned to find your eyes vacant,
Your smile chased from your red lips.
It scares me to think why.
Maybe it's just the weather.
You'll bloom come spring
But until then
I feel
Cold.
