Made a Fool

Made a Fool

A Poem by Echo086

A stone in my throat,
A pit in my stomach,
A slow, gnawing burn.
Reminding me:

"I said something stupid, didn't I?"
"I always say something stupid, don't I?"
"I should just give up, shouldn't I?"

You're driving me insane
But, I don't think you know it.
To you, I'm just another face, right?
Maybe I could change that.
Too bad, too late.

I've made a fool of myself again.
I'll just be another face
Until we forget one another.
Maybe then my mind will be at ease again.
