Flee your way

Flee your way

A Poem by Ebs Newman
"

An oldie. Another bullet dodged.

"
Take a walk around your life
Tell me all that you see
Read the signs on the side of the road
Tell me what you think they mean

Need builds inside your stomach
As you ignore the reason
Angst burns scars into your soul
As you fight the bleeding

I wish I could say I love you still

Take all the time to work through the lies
Tell me what it all really means
Read the story written behind my eyes
Tell me could you ever really see me

This addiction steals your beauty away
Seeping from your veins
You stand ugly and angry
And I flee your way

I wish I could say that I could stand still

These pills
This bottle
You disconnect, you rage
Chasing me further away
From who I thought we were

In the morning
Whats left of you
All broken and cracking
Can't even see that I am gone
Was I even ever here

Only you can save yourself
As I must save myself

I wish I could believe you loved me
I truly do

I wish I could say that I loved you still.
