A Song to sing the Voting Day Blues away !

"

Voting Day - Election Day in the good ‘ole U. S. of A. has arrived. Yes, it is upon We the People to finally allow our Voices to be heard through our Singular Vote. So, it’s time to take on the very long lines, and several hours long waits brought about by some of the Right Wing shenanigans played upon We the People in order to suppress democrat Votes (especially in key states).

Obstacles upon obstacles have been placed in front of Minority Voters in particular, because they are expected to Vote primarily for President Obama. Confusing I.D. (or not to be I.D.’ed) laws, Right Wing True Voters greeting folks in line and at the door in order to intimidate the less informed Voters away from the polls, shortened Early Voting Days and Hours…etc.

Yes, even Early Bird Voters have had to undergo the ridiculously childish and underhanded tricks of the Right Wingers this Voting Season.

So, it’s time to Sing the Voting Blues away, and look toward long suffering and courageous Voting Booth Victories (while chatting amicably with other long suffering and courageous Voters also enduring the very long lines, and indignities placed upon them by the corrupt and mean-spirited Right Wingers).

During times of stress, I often sing this song that I wrote a while ago, in order to help me adjust my attitude over any of Life’s occasional injustices or anything might I find getting under my skin or grating upon my nerves.

Time to dust it, and my rusty pipes, off and break into Song…..

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff

I was drivin’ down the highway just the other day

Someone in a hurry swerved in my way

I stomped on the brakes and yelled, “Hey, stay awake !”

I could swear I heard my Mama say -

CHORUS:

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Take a Deep Breath, let it pass

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Life’s headaches never last

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Shrug your shoulders, let it slide

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Keep Laughter on your side

I was runnin’ late to work, the coffee wouldn’t perk

Ran to my car and tripped hard in the yard

My shin was bleedin’, got a ticket for speeding’

I could swear I heard my Mama say -

CHORUS:

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Take a Deep Breath, let it pass

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Life’s headaches never last

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Shrug your shoulders, let it slide

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Keep Laughter on your side.

Had to grin and bare a Smile at my boss’s bad joke

Got a pat on the back and a little side poke

When I asked about my raise, he just walked away

I could swear I heard my Mama say -

CHORUS:

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Take a Deep Breath, let it pass

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Life’s headaches never last

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Shrug your shoulders, let it slide

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Keep Laughter on your side
