Soon To Be A Man

My heart was filled with joy
The day you entered my life.
So tiny, little baby boy
You made me whole that night.

Now I watch as you mature
And sorrow fills my heart.
You're building on your future
For soon it's time to part.

As you turn to walk away
Remember this, My Son.
You've been my trophey on display
Ever since your life's begun.

So say good-bye but do not weep
I'll keep your room in tact.
I'll scrub and clean, dust and sweep
In case you want it back.

not bad, but i was expecting more depth and passion seeing as how it is your son you are talking about,
