Back in the closetA Poem by Alicia Santoscompletely and utterly heartbroken
She leans over and all I can think about are the sweet nothings she's about to whisper in my ear
Instead, she just looks at me Eyes so empty Skin so pale Face so lifeless All I want to hear is I love you too; but no The only thing she can muster in a small raspy voice is I'm sorry That's when she decided to walk away forever Never looking back How will I go on? The sound of her voice gives me chills Hearing her name is heart breaking I never thought that she would be the one The only one who could have my heart if she wanted it The only one to stomp on my heart repeatedly with kind words The same kind words that are equivalent to knives in my back Back in the closet, I go
