A Second of Regret

A Second of Regret

A Poem by Earl Musick J

Every second something is meant to happen at that time,
but what if it doesnt happen when it should have,
would it cause a curve in time or just shatter something precious

You know how if you miss the bus, it causes a delay to you reaching your destination
it causes your ability to make it on time turn into being late,
and it goes downhill from there as you handle more then you can take,
but what if you miss that second that could have brought you love?

There are two people standing face to face with one talking about
the feelings that are held, as the other listens and understands
as they break into a little emotion because one wants one,

as the words flow out from the heart to the ears of the love
they are now standing their as they hug with their nose against the others nose,
their heads touching the others with one having a feeling so strong, he wished
he had listened to it

as they stand holding in silence, it feels like he could feel what she was feeling,
a strong emotion, something that he never felt before, something that left him broken and sore,
something that could of led to what was meant to happen,

with this strong feeling of passion and love he kept having the words kiss me, just kiss me
go through his head, he didnt know what it was, where it came from but all he could say was I cant,
i cant, what was felt that night, who knows, but it was something strong,

with all the love he had for her for several years before that night, you would think he would
make his move that second to express what he really felt, what caused him to fail, who knows,
was it because he had more respect for her then anyone else, was it because he didnt really love her
either way there was a curve in time, a delay in the love life, a regret that still stays amongst his memory
because he believes now that he missed his bus that could have traveled him to love.
