Turtled Up

Turtled Up

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

Not for haters. Being your best turtle self

"
There within the shell of isolated splendor
Tranquility oceans float them all about
To dream of waters tropical much warmer
Armored against the best and worst of hell
Yet turtles form no words to yell
But simply gurgle to themselves
Softly tumble on the waves of Somber
That tumble them about

As often as they go within themselves
Sometimes life has its hurdles
But there is one word and that is turtle
So happy to be tossed like salad
On a rolling swell, a wave of magic
That lands them on a beach so hard
Yet they remain so soft and mellow
Deep inside and peaceful where it counts
