Butterflies Above The MerryA Poem by Earl SchumackerA good morning eventButterflies Above the Merry
Butterflies bend the wind to color They dip in circular momentum calm Lifting the air enchanted through the pines Past lakes at speeds monitored by time And when the blue jay turns its head More in a hurried pitch than surprise In accordance with the laws of sunrise Which are never wrong but on their side Wise buttercups remain yellow to their roots Cups of joy stationed in tranquility Beautiful anchored observers to the truth who judge All creatures passing by in flight Wishing they could be on the wing As tiny birds sing out the cause of merry Butterflies go deeper in their souls Lovely at first light, invisible to the touch
