Moving To The Vibrations Of California

Birds chortle below the simple timber line

Warm winds can not protect them now

California is no place to be in the middle of a quake

Redwoods and sequoias sway, begin to understand

Collapse in on themselves on shaky grounds

Pacific waters hold a deep blue secret

A charm colder than the Atlantic winter storm

Still the waves rise to the size of mountains

Tsunamis know no boundaries once begun

Trees crack. Ships break with the day wide open

The sun becomes too heavy for the rising sky

Landslides on mud flows fill in the empty spaces

Innocent bystanders of an upside down world survive

Are not surprised when California leaves

Decides to make a new start out at sea

A terrifying account of what a tsunami can bring. Waves the size of mountains, unimaginable. I know of the 1906 earthquake and the loss of life and also that California is in that belt which has many small earthquakes. Yes, I wonder how easy it is to live there knowing you could be courting one disaster after another. Very descriptive write Earl, very well conveyed. All good wishes.
