A brief history of history

On This Date

On this date aspirin was invented

Orange flavored....the chewy kind

The Sea of Tranquility was landed on

Lunar lander and man and all the planets

Moon and Mars rotated on this date

The haberdashery came with soldiers

One size fits all in funny hats for war

Times Square turns over another axis

A leaf, a light, a population for another

Music becomes The Beatles

Nuclear families were born

God built a better robot

In the beginning there was nothing

For the first time in history

Warning labels would right the wrong

Boxes were made for them in their own image

PRINT

Traffic signals come with yellow in the center

Forever red and green blink out the night

On this date I married several people

All of them my wives

Before I dated them

Born on this date was history in the making

It has always been there lurking quietly

Pretending to be something special

Something like a fire in the dark

Before it finished
