A Tribute To Lazy People

A Tribute To Lazy People

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

They are always there...in a chair.

"
Soap and water are foreign concepts to the lazy
Cleanliness is an enemy of the state
Sleep is easier, more practical than showering
Which requires initiative and power
Lazies barely have the will to live

It is curious how lazies procreate
They don't do naked well
And like the turtle they go slow
And like the rest of us they come to an end
But slower

Parasites grow envious of the idle ones
Lazy people are geniuses at doing nothing
Living off others is a science
There is nothing better than free

Lazy people snore with big fat noses
They don't start wars for obvious reasons
It is hard enough to turn a light switch off

In a perfect world toilet seats stay up
No wives are needed, well, perhaps to buy potato chips
Couch potatoes are kings and need no reason to be kind
It is their job to be seated or reclined
TV's don't watch themselves you know
No schools, no rules, no shootings
Because we would all be lazy too

Because of lazy people fewer people die
They are the ultimate weapon against crime
Fatigue sets in quickly for the idle ones
It is always time to recline for the malingerers
Lazy people are much too busy eating fries
Hamburgers are their best friends
But don't ask cows too many questions
It is the end

Thank God for lazy people
Where would we be without them?
Where would they be without us?
So love the lazy people you can trust
They are always there....in a chair
Don't wake them up
