It is their state of being

At all times it really bugs me

Flying bugs and worm like creatures

They have nothing to do with this

The title of this poem

actually i understand and i don't judge a person through his political stand, what captured me in this poem is the philosophy itself of be-ing. we are here with a purpose such as the example of caterpillars turning into butterflies, they are created with a purpose so with the other bugs being mentioned. no matter what political stand or color it is, no matter who the powerful people are, each of them has his/her purpose, the basic question lies, did he/she had serve that purpose? that is why philosophy fascinates me because the quest for truth, for the purpose for who and what we are is still ongoing. thank you for this piece of writing.

Hi Sette, Thank you for your comments. I almost did not post this. Using the word Hitler usually yields the worst results under the best of circumstances and with the best intentions in mind. I could have just used Monica Lewinsky but that circus act has come and gone. I was happy simply using the reverse butterfly to make a point and getting a reaction. Nature and philosophy go hand in hand. Your observations are pretty much on the money. Thanks again. Have a great day. Earl

ok!!! i love love love your closing ..and the important question is not lost in you metaphor nor your unanswered questions ;) love the sarcastic, satire on a vicious world of politics these days ... it disgusts me beyond my endurance most days ... Mohammed Ali in all his brazen bravado told the truth when he said "..dance like a butterfly and sting like a bee" ... and appropriate for the ring ... your caterpillars and butterflies can not shake the swamp from themselves says i! ..no matter which way they "hatch"

Hi E. As a man with an eye to detail, I figured you would raise an eye brow and notice that I changed gears in this poem. I sometimes go in reverse like with the reverse butterfly and by mentioning the lost continuity of the poem by focusing on the title of the poem, with the obvious incongruities evident there in.
