The repetition of 'don't waste me' is very evocative. I'm not sure quite of what, but it still speaks roundly and soundly.
I can't help but think of an antithesis to your position: Bill Wither's "Use Me" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_Me_%28song%29). It's about somebody actually wanting to be used up, because it feels good. The message therefore seems to be the opposite of yours.
