If Only

If only I was beautiful
so I could be better than the rest
none would be better

If only I was smarter
so I could know that it doesn't matter
because there's always an unanswerable question

If only I was faster
so I could run right past all of this
missing the good as well as the bad

If only I was stronger
so I could push past any problem
without actually working through it

If only I was me
so I would stop wishing to be others
and be comfortable with myself
