Dangers of Travel

Dangers of Travel

A Poem by Eagergreen
"

No matter the path we walk we have dangers from our hopes, fears, responsibilities, and ourselves. Rest your feet and comment

"
Paths of dirt
the loam sticking to your feet
the coolness soaking into your skin
while trees come above hiding you
from the sun with his sharp spears

Streets of gravel
digging into your feet and holding on
the eyes of the fearsome behind shadow
watching and waiting for you to move from the street
so you walk the line of safety to home

Roads of cement
burning and scratching your skin
the grass ever so inviting with snakes
they slither about loudly whispering to you
coaxing you to the cool grass

Highways of spirit
we walk this path, street, and road
in simple quietness with no one near
only us walking to an unknown end
a wire and a highway of metal and grass
