Trust

Trust

A Poem by Maria Isabella

( 1st Verse)

I’m sorry for the doubt

Sorry for the pain

But now you know what I talk about

Now I don’t have to explain

You feel the suffering

You see the guilt

But how can I be happy

When I believe it’s my fault

 (2nd Verse)

Empty promises, broken dreams

The silver lining isn’t always like it seems

Love is wonderful, love is fine

But sometimes love is just hate in disguise

(Chorus)

And when you look into my eyes

And you hold my focus

Black and white

This feeling’s so obvious

I can hear the truth in your words

I can feel the love in your touch

But after all the times I’ve been hurt

Sometimes I find it hard to trust

(3rd Verse)

I’m sorry for this s**t

Wish I could take it back

Wish we could just forget it

Rewind all that

You feel the shame

You see the tears

But how can I stop the rain

After all these years

(4th Verse)

Empty promises, broken dreams

The silver lining isn’t always like it seems

Love is wonderful, love is fine

But sometimes love is just hate in disguise

(Chorus)

And when you look into my eyes

And you hold my focus

Black and white

This feeling’s so obvious

I can hear the truth in your words

I can feel the love in your touch

But after all the times I’ve been hurt

Sometimes I find it hard to trust

(Bridge)

I believe in your every word

Denying all my fears

Trusting this time it will work

Soaked in my tears

Praying,

Just maybe

I won’t get hurt ….

(Chorus)

And when you look into my eyes

And you hold my focus

Black and white

This feeling’s so obvious

I can hear the truth in your words

I can feel the love in your touch

But after all the times I’ve been hurt

Sometimes I find it hard to trust
