Sunset

Sunset

A Poem by Maria Isabella

(1st Verse)

Looking out across my balcony

With no one to love me

No one to hold me

Keep me warm on the coldest nights

Wishing he could be with me

Laying close to me

Holding me

Keeping me warm here tonight

(Chorus)

Standing, shaking, falling into insanity

Please life; just take me, death come upon me

I ain’t got nothing more to live for

I ain’t got nothing left of my life anymore

Blown away in the wind

Now I’ve got nothing, nothing (nothing)

Without him, my husband

I ain’t got nothing, nothing (nothing)

He was my sunset.....

(2nd Verse)

Looking far across the horizon

Sun’s nearly risin’

The tears are still cryin’

Something’s missing inside of my soul

Praying for him to come

Hold me in his arms

Warm my heart

I need him with me, don’t wanna be alone

(Chorus)

Standing, shaking, falling into insanity

Please life; just take me, death come upon me

I ain’t got nothing more to live for

I ain’t got nothing left of my life anymore

Blown away in the wind

Now I’ve got nothing, nothing (nothing)

Without him, my husband

I ain’t got nothing, nothing (nothing)

He was my sunset.....

(Bridge)

Good times come and go

Like a wave hitting the shore

Smashing your foundations

Tearing them down to the floor

Pain strikes you in the unknown

Holds you so you’ll never forget

Testing you patience

Destroying your beautiful sunset

(Chorus x 2)

Standing, shaking, falling into insanity

Please life; just take me, death come upon me

I ain’t got nothing more to live for

I ain’t got nothing left of my life anymore

Blown away in the wind

Now I’ve got nothing, nothing (nothing)

Without him, my husband

I ain’t got nothing, nothing (nothing)

He was my sunset.....

A very unique poem. I like how it's written like a song lyric. Nice job.
