Hugs 'n' Kisses

Hugs 'n' Kisses

A Poem by Maria Isabella

(1st Verse)

I never dreamed of the day you would say

I never loved you ever since our first date

Our wedding night was just one big lie

And now I, I’ve gotta find the strength inside

To make things right, to move on with my life

(Pre-Chorus)

Told that love was good for you

Far from the truth

Should have been told that love can fall apart

I had to learn that for myself

But I guess they forgot to tell me that part

So far from reality

Bleeding in pain

This is what love did to me

How do I explain …

(Chorus)

Love can get a little repetitive

You fall in love with her, you fall outta love with him

Painful, prosaic dinners and bitter marriages

Love can get a little repetitive

You’ve lost your pen

And you don’t know where the list is

Painful, prosaic dinners and bitter marriages

Ain’t nothing like the fairytale,

‘Cause I get no hugs and kisses

Ain’t nothing like the fairytale,

‘Cause I get no hugs and kisses …

(2nd Verse)

I never imagined the pain that love could bring

I never imagined I’d forget the lyrics to sing

Our love song was just not strong

And now we, we gotta find a way to breathe

To break our way free, to break the painful reality

(Pre-Chorus)

Told that love was good for you

Far from the truth

Should have been told that love can fall apart

I had to learn that for myself

But I guess they forgot to tell me that part

So far from reality

Bleeding in pain

This is what love did to me

How do I explain …

(Chorus)

Love can get a little repetitive

You fall in love with her, you fall outta love with him

Painful, prosaic dinners and bitter marriages

Love can get a little repetitive

You’ve lost your pen

And you don’t know where the list is

Painful, prosaic dinners and bitter marriages

Ain’t nothing like the fairytale,

‘Cause I get no hugs and kisses

Ain’t nothing like the fairytale,

‘Cause I get no hugs and kisses …

(Bridge)

And the heart ‘n’ my soul

Is the pinnacle of my pain

‘Cause you tore me apart

And you told me I was to blame

And the heart ‘n’ my soul

Is the pinnacle of my pain

‘Cause you tore me apart

And you told me I was to blame …

(Pre-Chorus)

Told that love was good for you

Far from the truth

Should have been told that love can fall apart

I had to learn that for myself

But I guess they forgot to tell me that part

So far from reality

Bleeding in pain

This is what love did to me

How do I explain ….

(Chorus)

Love can get a little repetitive

You fall in love with her, you fall outta love with him

Painful, prosaic dinners and bitter marriages

Love can get a little repetitive

You’ve lost your pen

And you don’t know where the list is

Painful, prosaic dinners and bitter marriages

Ain’t nothing like the fairytale,

‘Cause I get no hugs and kisses

Ain’t nothing like the fairytale,

‘Cause I get no hugs and kisses …
