Every Tear Tells A Story

Every Tear Tells A Story

A Poem by Maria Isabella

(1st Verse)

When you see someone crying down the street

Many don’t even stop to think

If it were you standing there filled with sorrow

Wouldn’t you like to hear someone say hello

(2nd Verse)

It’s hard to go on

When there’s nothing worth living for

It’s hard to stay strong

When you see all the mistakes you made before

It’s hard to forget your wrong

When everyone seems to be keeping score

(Chorus)

Our tears reveal our inner most state

Tears of joy or tears of heartache

You can’t hide the pain on your face

Remember this for the next time you see me

Know now that every tear tells a story

(3rd Verse)

When you see someone that looks like they’re in pain

Ask them how they’ve been doing

It doesn’t matter if you don’t know there name

‘Cause those few moments spent talking

Could be enough to brighten up their darkest day

(4th Verse)

It’s hard to go on

When there’s nothing worth living for

It’s hard to stay strong

When you see all the mistakes you made before

It’s hard to forget your wrong

When everyone seems to be keeping score

(Chorus x 2)

Our tears reveal our inner most state

Tears of joy or tears of heartache

You can’t hide the pain on your face

Remember this for the next time you see me

Know now that every tear tells a story

(Bridge)

I am left standing in the dark

Trying to piece together my broken heart

But is it too much to ask for this pain to pass

(Chorus x 3)
