Perspective

Perspective

A Poem by Eric Spitz
"

A juxtaposition of perspectives, inspired by a picture of a Romanian swamp. Photo credit: https://www.facebook.com/PlacesToSeeBeforeYouDieOfficiaPagel/

"
Light besmirched by a drab hazy mist
And the limbs of trees as they turn and twist
Towering above a great carpet of moss
Ornamenting a labyrinth of disfigured rocks
Which cradle still pools in sheltered protection
A scene now retold by the water's reflection
I am the lord of this vast stretch of mire
These stones I have worn into paths I desire
I give life to the algae, my vassals indebted
These saplings owe fealty for roots I have wetted
I bring fog to the sky and light obeys my directive
The scene juxtaposed with another's perspective
