Until

Until

A Poem by EJ1

Crime scenes, civilians, on site we fight
Police arrive taking the right
Relief at last yet the righteous were wrong
They pin us down as I sing this song

Rooms of people staring
We're condemned to death
Left to rot - you wish your last breath, yet only
Doing time under house arrest

Your found innocent- your so happy
You did no wrong and the police now know
you've done your time, Your free to go
yet the criminals have one more show

Wait, the locks stuck, it won't open
criminals bombard the door, halfway broken
It breaks halfway - your trapped in the fray
Unable to say, your pushed out today, but

They're captured - you suffer
Your finally free,
You've been condemned on file without trials
before you could even walk one mile

Your soul forever changed
Out and rearranged
A new you, still you
One that will always be wrapped in chains

What you wanted is no more
Change yourself and even the score
Not real, not meant to stay still
But you have no choice, until

It reads like a crime novel. Good job.
