Denial

Just a thought on materialism.

DENIAL

We walked along what seemed like miles.

Concrete palace, marble and tile.

Packed shelves and bursting aisles.

Bright eyes and fake smiles.

High cost, new styles.

You need it all. Just stay a while.

Outside the walls, the garbage piles.

Poor man begs for hungry child.

Blood shot eyes and broken smile.

See his face and change the dial.

You need it all. Spiritual denial.

I quite liked the flow. Nice contrasts and imagery. There are a few things I probably would have done differently, but the way you wrote it worked. Short and well written. Nicely done.
