Naked

No matter how bad things get in your own life, you can always do something to make the world brighter.

This house is a good house
It has no heat or air conditioning
It has holes in the roof
and lacks furniture or electricity.
The wind and rain and snow blow right in
But it could be worse
I could be left naked.

These clothes are good clothes.
Much too big, much too thin
some have holes
and some are see through
the summer burns me and the winter freezes.
but it could be worse
I could be left naked.

These shoes are good shoes
They are much too small
my toes poke through sometimes
snow brings frostbite, summer brings warmth
the laces fall apart
but it could be worse
I could be left naked

This smile is a good smile
it does not waiver and never falls
it shows no sadness
anger or regret is hidden
nothing is revealed behind this bright smile
oh yes. things could be much worse
I could be left naked.
