What I Never Had

This poem was written by: Erica.

Mommy asked the doctor's
but the doctors didn't know
She cleaned up the entire house
mumbling "now where did that thing go?"

She's looked up and down,
left and right, around and back again.
While dad and I watch boxing
and wonder who will win.

Finally she's tired
she turns to me to ask
I tell her "Mommy? What do you mean?"
Turns out her calm mind was a mask

"You know what I mean!" she yelled.
"Oh that?" I said. "I'm glad!"
"I was born without a brain."
"You don't lose what you never had."

She stared at me dumbfounded
then went into her room
I said to dad "I will not lie."
"If she get's worse, we're doomed."
