COOKIES!

Cupfuls of sugar
Butter heated soft
Add in an egg
Stir the mixture wet

Scoop in some flour
Make it nice and doughy
Along to the sweetest bit,
Sprinkle in the chocolate chips

Now it’s time to use your hands
Comb your fingers through the dough,
Caking them in sticky mix
With sugary peaks on your fingertips.

Lick them clean, take a spoonful too.
Taste-test it, no harm in that!
But exercise some self-restraint,
Or you’ll have nothing left to bake.

Roll the dough into little balls,
Press each one gently with a fork.
In the hot oven, they must be placed
Set a timer and impatiently wait...

Warm sweet fragrant air
Wafts through the rooms.
Eyes bulge with anticipation
Mouth moistens in salivation

Timer finally trills at last
Oven mitts are at the ready
Take the steaming cookies out,
Imagine them crumbling in your mouth.

Tantalising golden tops
Glistening chocolate spots
Before they cool, munch one down
That’s what baking cookies is all about!!

That's right who doesn't love cookies right? Only thing better is chocolate :P
I think this poem sums up the joys of baking and eating cookies quite well.
Does make you want some just reading this piece.
It is very hard when ur making a cookie mix, or a cake mix, not to want to keep eating all the mixture/dough, it certainly is hard to stop lol.
I enjoyed this because it was to the point, and relatable and about something everyone loves.
Think this poem has made everyone want some cookies. :)

Heheh thank u!
Isn't**** there something awesome about describing and writing about food? Especially "treats" and such? It is fun and makes me hungry. You can be our virtual baker/head dessert artist, haha. Great read brother.
