“What are you doing here?” Parrish asked Justice later that night. Justice stood outside the front door of the house and Parish stood in the door way. “I thought you were moving into Julian’s place today.” Parrish began to realize something was wrong with her sister. “What’s going on?” She asked, stepping outside, closer to Justice.

     “You were right.” She said.

“Right about what?” Parrish asked, confused.

“I had no idea what the end of the world felt like.”

Parrish’s heart began to race. “Please don’t tell me you broke up with Julian over that stupid thing I said.”

     “No… I cheated on him.”

Parrish’s eyes widened. “You what?” she asked, in shock. “When did that happen? The wedding’s in four months!”

“When I was nineteen; remember how we went to different schools? And he was so far away and I met this other guy on campus. I was so lonely and I missed Julian. I slept with him.”

Parrish softened her tone. “Justice, that was like a thousand years ago.”

     “I know.”

“So… why did you tell him?”

Justice was quiet for a minute, as if she was thinking of the right words to explain for her actions. “Because I wanted him to know the truth about the woman he was going to marry. I wanted him to know that she’s not perfect.” Justice put her head down. “I guess, in a way, I wanted you to know that, too.”

Parrish began to feel a sour sensation in her stomach. She felt like this was partly her fault. “What did he say?” she asked.

“He said… he doesn’t think we should get married.” Justice forced out, crying. “He doesn’t wanna be with me anymore! I ruined everything!”

Justice began to sob and put her head in her hands. Parrish didn’t know what to do. She stood there watching her sister cry and barely even moved. Whenever her sister was upset, it always made her nervous. Continuing to watch Justice weep, Parrish knew she would have to put her nervousness aside for now whether it made her uncomfortable or not. She put her arms around her sister and held tight.
