LOVING

What is Loving ?

     

Everybody knows about love

but, what is loving ?

 

What is it when she writes you a note

Just to make you feel swell

That is called loving

 

When he writes you a poem

Just because you are swell

That is loving

 

When you say I love you

And you don't care who knows

You have just loved him

 

There are times when you are low

And he will just hold you then

Yes, that is loving

 

Many things you can`t tell him

He says I understand

Did you think he is loving

Yes that`s loving

 

He waits and waits for you

What for ?

Because he is loving

 

You are crabby and blunt

Sometimes things are just wrong

He smiles at you and kisses your nose

And that`s loving

 

I did`nt have to at all

So I wrote her this

That`s loving

I disagree with the very first stanza ~
Not everyone knows about love.
(that was my first thought)

However, the gestures during the day
are so important and meaningful.
The "ACT" of loving is everything.
I do my best to be as "LOVING" as I can
towards my love, for it's true;

"It's the little things that count"

Nobody really know what loving is all about until they're loved and love back .. guess it's different for everybody because everybody is unique. But what you've written here is just wonderful and right and sweet and gentle and that's what love must mean to the poet ..

The way you tell a story or poem is clear and flowing, never hiccups with emotion, just as if you're talking across a table to someone ..

I read this poem when you first posted it and didn't see a word of it. Made no sense what so ever. Tonight it makes perfect sense. Well worded. Don't know much about poetry, but this says it well.
