BATTLE

BATTLE

A Poem by Eagle Cruagh

BATTLE

Tied to a pier
Discussing the world
Funny that we can`t
Work together

Twelve tiny people
Employed by the French
Surveyed a huge undertaking
A giant log pole

They fought over this
In a strange foreign tongue
Wild gestures threatening
No work done

`Nother drink we watched
The twelve bickered
Then without sign or word
They picked up the pole and left

What a write! The words tell a story of being on the outside and looking in on apparent chaos and although there seems to be no order going on, clearly there is, as a conclusion is reached in a united fashion. I guess this write is about the lack of understanding that exists between different cultures as each will have their accepted way of operating which won't be understood by another culture as we all have entirely different ways of dealing with problem solving.

This is part comedy, part tragedy - the insecurity of not knowing what's right, what's wrong, always looking for a problem, then, discovering it was as easy as pie in the sky.

A whimsical, tongue in cheek sort of write .. gentle wit ..
