NOSTALGIA #2

NOSTALGIA #2

A Poem by Eagle Cruagh
"

walking hand and hand into the setting sun

"

NOSTALGIA #2

Hand and hand they walk
Toward that last great setting sun
Smiling as they stroll
They are pleased the job is done

No one told them to love through life
Love emanates from you or naught
Maybe it was something else
Perhaps life was just a thought

And when spoken it was done
Lives are guided or they are not
By wisdom of the One
Traveling out from this old place
Hand in hand into the setting sun

Have we left a little child ?
Or maybe just a smile
When it is all added up
Will it be all worth your while ?

We did`nt do it for ourselves
It was part of life`s grand plan
Things we knew nothing about
Mysteries fill our lives
Miracles sustain us without end
Until this day when there is no doubt

The sun is setting now
The light is almost gone
Thank you friends for all you`ve done
We`ve loved you one by one

A sweet little write, kinda dreamy in texture.
I like the gentle ebb and flow of it, how perhaps life stands for one thing or perhaps it means another.
The only thing I know for sure about life is that it is a true gift that should be explored fully out of respect for the ones that didn't make it.
'Love emanates from you...or naught' is my favourite line. A wonderful observation about the human condition.
In summing up, there is a lot said in this poem but there is also much left to the readers imagination which is always such a treat to be given. The chance to enjoy a write but to then go on and explore oneself in privacy. Thank you.

Hello there! Wow your poems are great! You have a real talent! Thanks for commenting on my story. I'm getting ready to write a new post. I must admit, writing makes me nervous! I'm excited to read more from you.

Beautiful romantic expression of eternal love, the mysteries of life, and reflection on the important things in life. Somewhat philosophical and very well penned with good rhyme and flow. I really enjoyed reading this one.

"We've loved you one by one". Wonderful line/phrase/thought! Great poem about everything we endure through living. Tip my hat to you!

Beautifully written. The flow is perfect. The rhymes were in all their write places. Kudos, my friend

The image of the last setting sun is a lovely one, and I really enjoy the lyrical quality of stanzas 1, 2, 4 and 5. Stanza 3 felt to me a little awkward--content was lovely, but in reading aloud the rhythm was a bit dissonant to the poem as a whole. Perhaps, though, that was your intention.
I originally thought this was a poem about a family member, or a spouse/partner and the nostalgia over that kind of relationship, but the last stanza suggests instead it is nostalgia of past friendships. I like the ambiguity.

This is a perfect piece. I loved the memories it made me have...IT really is crazy to think we run through life...without remembering...this helped me remember! Thank you for that!

Do these things just flow from you naturally? I'd have think very hard to write something this good and I'm not sure I can anyway. My writings are so simple compared to yours and a lot of others I see on here. Maybe in time... huh

I loved it.......

Well Well Well, Mr. Craugh.
Looks like I came back again!
And yet you still surprise me and leave me breathless with every writing you create.
I am terribly sorry for not commenting on any other of your poems.
I've had so many things going on my mind in the last few months.
But this, wow. THIS was like a gift.
It's phenomenal and astonishing.
Outrageous work, my friend.

I like this walking into the sunset vision you have written. Reflecting on the life lived and shared with those who have come and gone before them. I wonder if they know what is beyond the sun and light they are walking into? I love the fact that they are doing it together and not alone as most of us will be. This reminds me of your romantic nature. :)
