DRUMSA Poem by Eagle Cruaghjust a little drumming
DRUMS
You may hear them throbbing
In the dark of jungle night
Like the black narcissus
Sobbing word of a beater`s plight
Deep sodden winding river
Lined with trailing vine
Aware that drums deliver
Acoustic bubbling wine
Drums are now in big town
Where women`s swaying stance
Throb with the drumming rhythm
Perform suggestive dance
Drums along the Mohawk
Drums along the Nile
Now drums in downtown Chilliwack
Beat skins along each mile
Music fails to make it
Without sobbing throbbing drums
A woodblock tick, stick will click
cymbal crash to end the run
Beating out the history of the drum.
