This poem made me think of death. It is not that grieving death of a loved one, but the peaceful death of the body, that sets the soul free. I envisioned metaphors throughout the poem. I could see the struggles of earthly relationships releasing into peaceful solitude. The freedom of worldly constraints, brings about a serenity that can only be felt in the thereafter. A place where time has no meaning.
Of course, this is my interpretation. I may be way off course. Do let me know if I am, dear...
Wow...this is really good. It is so powerful, and the enlarged fonts played in a assistance. This is so dark and demanding. It's great. Good Job! Kudos!
Nice. I like how you are so descriptive. the part where you speak of leather, I can actually "smell" the leather. lol. I think you write about freedom and happiness from this stifled world in a very unique way, def not how i would have thought of putting it. you brought a litle of who you are in your piece, by the objects you used as metaphors. nice job.
I enjoyed this very much. To me it is also a poem of being free, but I see it as being more of a mental and emotional freedom, perhaps from the darkness of despair and depression into the joyous freedom of clear and true thinking, seeing and believing.
Dark depression is a cloying, clogging, binding pit where everything weighs heavy, and any other place that is peaceful, serene, joyous is just a dream.
The second verse tells me, the darkness is lifting, that the force holding you down (the pit bulls) has released its hold and the emergence into life again while happier, is still cold although cleansing.
Third and fourth verses take me though the "physical awareness" that the only restraints holding you now are those welcome ones of blossoms and new life. No need to think of growing old now, a new full life is waiting.
The closed minds and past baggage are dumped, cleaned out, nothing left to fetter you, to hold you down, and now your mind is free, you see the freedom and joy of life awaiting. you.
There are many kinds of freedom, the soul, heart, life, mind, relationships etc, and this poem could be read to fit any one of them.
I like the way this poem does this, stating facts but allowing the reader to feel his/her own emotions here and to relate in their own way. I don't think this poem needs a reason for being, it is just exactly what it is. A release from the past into a brand new future.
Well done and thank you for the read request- I did enjoy this one very much.

Great form and great choice of words. This poem has rhyme and rhythm.
I like how there is a contrast and transition, and how is the message imparted. This was written well.
Hey, this poem is really awesome..the style reminds me of that writer-whatsisname "nothing gold can stay" writer-Frost? Anyway, I thought the rhythm, flow and rhyme are great-and I wouldn't change a thing.
