A FUN LOVING GUY

A FUN LOVING GUY

A Poem by Eagle Cruagh
"

He stole hearts and he was smooth, but something is amiss----

"
FUN LOVING GUY

She was only a poor workman`s daughter
Quiet as the morning`s dew
She longed for the rapture she found in words
Sadly she found only you

The gigolo posed shirtless and smooth
Aloof the kids called him cool
He wrote all these beautiful words
The words that made poor  Angela  drool

Around here they called him a poet
Down at the hardware we called him a fool
He spewed incense in words and joined a group
Of sleek and slimey males by the pool

These poets all spoke in a rapture of words
Angela poor innocent girl
Preened and adjusted all that she owned
Unknowingly adoring his curls

The day came when out of the blue
She confessed that she needed this jewel
Angela now stolen from out of our world
Angela lured away by this fool

When Angela thought him to propose that day
For he was a poet you know
She listened for his voice a soft quiet glow
Instead she heard them tell her "he`s gay".

I enjoyed reading this poem... I was feeling truly sorry for the girl until the end of the poem. Then I could not help but laugh. The ending was entirely unexpected. Well penned.

Flowed well. And I blew coffee through my nose at the end. Well done.

Cheers!

Great poem, the poem has a soft sweet rhyme that reels you in, all the way to the last line very funny.
I loved it, made me smile. Cherrie
P.S. I just now figured out how to move the rating bubble.

Hahaha! Very comical ending. I like the message of this piece. I've been here many times; falling for the poet. The flow was outstanding! Kudos

Poor girl.. this is kind of funny but also sad.. she did not realize this until after she was so feverishly drawn.. shows that we always need to take a step back to reality in between.. liked this and there really is some meaning there.. don't judge by appearances.. get to know better first! Thank you for sharing!
