DOWN ALONG THE PURGATORYA Poem by Eagle CruaghInspired by Lorie from Lonsome Dove.
DOWN ALONG THE PURGATORY
She had pretty flowers in her hair
When she walked she moved all over
And she talked the talk she was all there
That`s Isabella I`m talk`n `bout
Big brown eyes and reddish blonde
That`s just how she looked
How she was was wistful want
A better life she said
"Gonna get me a big rich man",
"I aint never gonna let `im go",
"He`ll get kiss`n between his ears",
"We aint never go`n be po"
Life along the Purgatory with Isabella
Proved to be a trial
Liv`n with Isabella was too much for any fella
He kissed his horse goodbye and went to town
Never to be seen again
She never even cried a tear
This girl was a saint in harlot dress
With a lisp of paradise to come
See, Isabella knew no fear
The saint of the Purgatory
Envy of every man up and down the crick
Had picked a saint for her next man
HAHAHAHA---- she had picked Saint Nick
