Liberia

Liberia

A Poem by Olu
"

A poem about my native land Liberia. A worthy nation in West Africa.

"
A worthy Nation.
A glorious republic.
Alone in spirit,
Filled with milk and honey.

The sun sits.
Heavy with life,
Great people lie within.
The trees spin the world.

From mangrove swamps to sandy beaches,
From foods to fruits,
Flame colours are shown.
Surely! Thee is a great Nation.

Sharp points of brave fighters,
In fiery colours,
It shines the world everyday.
Oh! Mama Liberia glows!

Her eyes were searchlights.
Bringing forth magic,
From time to time,
Oh! The torch is burning.

Day to days,
Month to months,
Age to ages,
Mama cries for peace.

A lonestar is shown.
Waving on the flag,
Showing its uniqueness.
Oh! It has flourished.

From Mount Nimba to Mount Wologisi,
Riches lie in.
Beauty falls mama!
Golden image is shown!
