The Greatest Poem Never Told

The Greatest Poem Never Told

A Poem by E.H. Monroe
"

emotional driven, goddamn tragic words of pure ugly and topped with tears,

"

I have heard the passing pieces of the greatest poem of all time

It’s alive in the slums, drums of steno bums

Its stinky dan

Listening to ol Cheese Legs tear apart western philosophies like a filth painted Socrates while bathed in the electric light of a garbage can

As he spreads his wings and sings the psalms of ticking time bombs and the cosmos unfolds in stories untold

There

Lives the greatest poem never heard

It’s the home school student

Baby with a baby

Painting the margin’s spines

With wiser wisdom then the minds of Allegorical mystical spies

But… f**k!

A friend to feeding times and cries dissolves the goddamned lines into the garbage can where the ink runs into a puddle of time and dies

Lives the greatest poem never heard

It’s getting your snearky ear peeks outside the crooner’s coffin café,

Black, brick tomb laid to rest opium poems unused

Only to hear the mumbles of teary moods

In muffled consonants misused and A

E-I-O and You’s

Means I had missed

The greatest poem never heard

The future?!

No brighter!

It’s the new writer

The lamp lighter

The suicide citer

Nervous,

pacing afraid of a computer screen and a click to approve

To be put to screws and scrutiny and judged too critically

And frantically beats the mouse in tandem with the stone snare beats defeating her heart

Delete…

And the words, the greatest poem never heard is torn apart by microbes, lost in the midst of her cipher and dumped into the hyper cyber space,

floats

no weight

That youngblood is forced into a corner cavity

Transformed into a non transcribed tragedy

Lost in the creak of a stool

Snap of a noose

The unvented frustration

A new school revelation

And scrawled in her smoking soul

Is the greatest poem that will never

Be

told

Til now. hell we don't care what people think.....I write for me right...lol? This lifted up the skirt of the quiet school girl who never did nothin' to nobody and turned her into a w***e, but that will never be written by her brother or father and her best friend was sworn to secrecy so only half the school knows. Society can't seem to speak the truth even if it see's it and it takes forty pound balls to push it in the faces of those that know its there but pretend to be unaffected. Great...thought provoking for sure.

AS I read more of your work you are to me on here the writers version of Dirty Harry, Paul Kersey of the death Wish films and the Terminator all rolled into one,you have a hard edged style that gets in your face and says read me or I will come round your house and Uzi your life away. A unique style that screams out from the page. You should be in print not in space.

People don't want the truth anymore. It is too harsh, so they live one lie at the time until everything they know are lies. Cover ups here, make believes there, makes for a world no different than one made out of lego blocks. Sad part is that those lies around us, try to bend us into what they want us to be, and never let our individual voices be heard.

I read this three times, and I might read it three more times, perhaps a bit more after that. I'm trying to find the stories and experiences in the words, see, and maybe I have, 'cause this is relatable like, we're all souls you know, broken & separated from some greater unity above below around, etc, so maybe I have experienced this in many lifetimes and it's getting worse this time around. anyway, what I'm saying specifically is that this is, what the hell, f****n amazing, my good sir, seriously. Did you just peer into my soul or somethin' ? did you pour your soul out into these poignant honesties... wish i could yell this. And speak it into existence. and yell you & I & everybody into existence. But see your words are everything in the universe, and D****T. I feel like a lunatic now, amazing what this did to me. This is spontaneous poetry, stream of consciousness, brutal emotion and truths, to the absolute highest degree, hell you surpassed the highest degree. sorry my words are an unintelligible mess. cheers.

wooo you do it again!! you're in competition with yourself here EH! brilliant - all the dying rhymes, messages that could have been!! just brilliant - and also pretty technical though you stave away from it haha - nice little breaks to speed it up in the middle and lots of internal rhymes ;)

Amen! That's where I steal all my poetry...in the grimy little cracks where the sun doesn't shine......unless it shines so bright it burns you up!

Felt this one!
Cheers!

I'm blown away by the idea behind this piece - all the brilliant poems that might have been, flushed down the toilet of obsolescence that this century's non-events deliver on a daily basis.

reading this was like the poetry retelling of goldie locks...I read it once, too myself. Something wasn't quite right, I read it out loud... better still not quite right, unnatural, flow distorted. I screamed, pouring emotion. It was gory, it was harsh, it was awesome.
The master of rhythmical rhymes strikes again, grit grime and f*****g right. Bravo good sir.
