Vestige (working title)

Vestige (working title)

A Poem by E.Gleaves

Antiques once calming and comforting
Are now defaced and unrecognizable
Faces that once gleamed with youth
Are now tainted
Re-painted by the paint brush of time
The streets I once frolicked on as a child
Are now but a vestige of nostalgia
And the dreams I once dreamt
Have become nothing but dreams
Fantasies that never manifested into reality
The dreams have never changed
But the one who has dreamt has,
Everything remains the same
At the same time
Everything starts to change
