The Day You Said GoodbyeA Poem by E.A.RoseThe day you said Goodbye- I could tell you were already gone.
You stood in the empty doorway with nothing to say.
I wanted to tell you your smile had changed and that We both knew your mission statement
no longer included a "we". You had become a lonely letter. I. You sweat Guilt, maybe Guilt for the distasteful timeing
of your Goodbye. Maybe Guilt for selling our dog on my birthday. Guilt for telling my sister I didnt love her.
Goodbye had become such an ugly word. Goodbye was a lousy substitute for the words we both knew you needed to say. Could've said instead.
But choose not to.
