The LakeA Poem by getinthecarpleaseAnd so the fiery rows of spring gather in the figures glare To compose the manuscript of the emotions emitted in night And they did watch the calyx and petals drift along the warming stream In a dream did they sew the seams of the reflected gleam And so the flaring rose blows in the gentle breeze of summer air Which converges at a scarlet horizon with gulls vanishing in the light And they did observe the words collide in a series of poetic beams The scheme falls at the rising scream which startles the calm bream And so the song resides along a riverside The lake is shining in the dawn As dusk chills the burning noon The pond conducts the autumn spawn And so the scorched prose shuts its eye in the winter lair The lauded colors wither into the frigid soul of white And they did wander to the frozen lake and the slowing stream In a dream they did seem to drift from the lightened gleam And so the lovers vanish to the memory of the warming flare The silvers glow in a convulsing radiance amidst the freezing rite And they did hold their emotions in a sequence of reams A theme for the rising steam from the depths of the dream
