Fading Away

Fading Away

A Poem by Dylan Posthuma

In hope
In our memories
The days pass fast.
In sorrow
In our dreams
The night stands still
Yet our lives.
They pass
But our memories fade
And our hopes and dreams
They drift away
The darkness is blinding
The light it pains
For our eyes were raised
Hidden in the shade
The shade of our hopes
The shade of our dreams
The shade of our fading memories
Let the sun rise so the day can pass
Let the moon shine so the night goes fast
And watch as our sorrows drift away
Only to return some other day.
