Free-Falling Alone...

Free-Falling Alone...

A Poem by apennylate
"

Rags-n-Aberrations

"
I sputter when I spit and spatter, taste of matter, waste of grave rattle
Brave hatter, mad gravity grafter, laughter disaster, gray pitter-patter

The rains of brains after the lame-after-ache, same pass-and-take, please often make rainbows exist in travels, burned tomes are learned, unravel more paste and batter

Rags-n-Aberrations

After the master gabber, I'm a faster blaster, a mix of traveler 'n' masker

Basket of basking travesty, carnival blur carved in mirth...

An alabaster bur

A word unheard... A song unlearned

Like bong of worth stirred and perched
I'm slurped and burped...
Stripped of dirt, the earth is burnt in crispy birth

I'm earnest in turning over every stone
unfurling my throne
no one is owed...
I'm free-falling on my own

I don't know why but this poem seemed very fast paced to me. I was reading it extremely fast without meaning to!

And the last stanza describes how I feel most days!

Alabaster bur should be the phrase of the year.
That is one great ending to this wacky poem.

I'm free-falling through this poem, and I love it. You know how in cartoons, sometimes they'll show a character falling through the branches of trees, bouncing from one branch to another? Your poem has that sensation, but without the discomfort, haha this was so much fun! And the word play was exciting :D

You don't leave a stone turned to not find surprises, words to not fit meanings and music to not flow with songs. A free fall feeling of easy discovery and owed confrontation head on. Marvelous you are...:)..............

Your word play really DOES feel like free-falling thru the ponderings of the mind! Your rhyming & sound combinations are fun & startling & a little bit like "rap" music but also much more unique sounding. You've used many unusual words that have interesting sounds & meanings . . . even tho I'm not getting an overall message understanding here, it's okay, cuz it's a fun read. Sometimes we just want to play with words & sounds! *smile*
